imgFrequently Asked Questions

Q: What sort of Wedding photography packages do you offer?
A:
We tailor all our packages to each clients needs. Everyone is unique and we want to match the style of your day with the style of photography. And we want to show you all the ways that you can use your collection of images. Then it’s up to you to choose what you’d like to include in your own package. We provide coverage’s from 4 hrs to 14hrs. Some of the options include, the length of coverage, grooms coverage, same day slideshows, wedding albums, parents albums, gift albums, wall portraits, signing prints, etc.

Q: Does every package include an album?
A:
No, we have a unique way of looking at wedding photography. We separately itemise all inclusions so thay you can create your ideal package. We believe that our studio shouldn’t dictate to you what’s in your wedding package. This gives you great flexibility & means you can include only what you’d like. This also means you are not tied into having an album immediately, but can order it at a later stage if your budget is limited.

Q: What is an album registry?
A:
As just one of many ways we can help you with costs, we provide a wedding album registry for our clients. This is a service in which guests at your wedding can give money towards your album or prints instead of that extra toaster they were going to buy you. They will receive a beautiful gift card, which they can give you on the wedding day, and you will have some help with the cost of your album once you return from the honeymoon.

Q: Do you shoot on film or digital?
A:
We are a fully digital studio. We shoot your wedding on the same cameras that we shoot our advertising images, and they can enlarge up to billboard size.

Q: Can we keep the negatives?
A:
Yes, you can keep the negatives. Since we are a fully digital studio they will be the original digital files. They are included in most packages.

Q: How can I make an appointment to see more of your work and talk to you about our wedding photography?
A:
You can contact us by email, i or contact our studio on either (02) 98101262. Alternatively you can fill out the enquiry form on the website and we’ll get right back to you.

Q: When are you open for appointments?
A:
The studio is open by appointment only. The best thing to do is to come in to our studio and allow us to show you how we can personalise our approach for your wedding. We are available during the day, after work and some weekends.

Q: Who will be the photographer that turns up on the day?
A:
Our team of photographers is lead by Brett Odgers and all have been hand picked from the advertising, commercial and fashion industry.  Brett is our principal photographer and is usually the first one available for any bookings.     if your have requested Brett  and he is unavailable you will be advised immediately.  The choice will then be yours. All our team have been highly trained in the style of Brett Odgers Photography. You will always meet  the photographer of your wedding prior to the big day, so they will usually meet you either at the  engagement portrait or the pre production planning meeting.  We all end up feeling like a part of your family after we have shared your wedding day and it is this sensitive intimacy that we foster in each of our photographers.

Q: How many photographers will be there on the day?
A:
On most occasions we have 2 photographers, 1 principal photographer and a second. Brett has worked as a film director and this has led him to integrate the multi camera technique into the studios wedding photography. “There are many times throughout the day when we want to cover the action from two angles. A classic example is the bride walking down the aisle. we want to see the expectant look on her face but I also want to capture the scene from behind as she walks down the aisle to her new life.” The two photographers work as a team each concentrating on their own aspect of the job. This allows us to quietly capture the magic moments of your day without undue interference.

Q: Do you shoot black+white and colour?
A:
Yes, Capturing the mood and feel of the day is often achieved through the use of back+white, colour and cross-processed colour imagery. The mixture of these styles is entirely up to you. We capture all the images on the day in colour and then we process the images into Black and white , sepia and cross processed colour.

Q: How much time do you recommend “on location” for the portraits between the ceremony and reception?
A:
I prefer the minimum to be around 1hr. The more time we can have then the more variations we can produce. If you have more time allocated, then you can arrange to use greater than one location for more diversity. We feel that this is a time for you to relax with each other for the first time as a married couple, and it is as you relax that the most romantic and fun shots are often captured.

Q: Do you do Enlargements and display prints? What about retouching?
A:
We have some amazing options for wall portraits, Photographic canvas, Artmounted and traditional framed prints. These will suit any style of house, whether its traditional & formal or funky and modern. There is a range of prints on display at the studio, which we would be pleased to show you. All our wall portraits will be scrutinized in case they need retouching and cleaned up if necessary.

Q: Do we select the photographs that go into our album?
A:
Yes. We find the best way is if we provide an initial design as a starting point. We design based on our favourite images, and commonly they are yours also. You can then change as much or as little as you wish. Ultimately it is your album, we will provide design advice, but it is entirely up to you as to what images you choose and how involved you would like to be.

Q: Do we have a choice of album styles?
A:
Yes. There are so many choices it will make your head spin. traditional leather or amazing photocovers. Our motto is anything is possible and we have many different styles of albums which we can view electronically before you finally approve the design.

imgQ: Tell me more about the engagement portraits?
A:
The portrait sitting is included in most packages free of charge. This is a saving of around $400.00. You will receive a photographic session at at our studio and we will show you your images in our viewing suite. People are using these prints for everything from a guest signing print on the wedding day, to invitations. One of the benefits of the engagement portrait is that you get to see how we work, and clients comment that this takes some stress out of not knowing what will happen on your wedding day. This is a really great time for your photographer to get to know you also, and see how you interact with each other.

Q: What are your payment terms? And what do we do now?
A:
We take a reservation fee of $1000 to secure the day for you. You can do this by direct deposit or by cheque, visa, mastercard or eftpos. You then have until three weeks prior to the wedding to decide what you’d like to include in your package, length of coverage etc. That's when the final payment id due.

Q: When do we see the photographs?
A:
That depends on what you have included in your package. For many of our clients who have  chosen not to have an album immediately the proofs will be ready to pick up in about 4-5 weeks.  We will book you in for an initial viewing where we will display your wedding day photographs for the first time in our cinema with an amazing audio visual slideshow. We encourage you to bring along family or friends as it can be a wonderful experience. If you have booked an album we will move into designing your album straight after the initial slideshow. We should have you album design finalized in another fortnight. Typically we deliver between 500 and 800 images from your wedding day depending on your length of coverage.
